I've been passionate about helping people, animals, and the planet my entire life. I studied business and communication while pursuing my undergraduate degree, and after five years as a software trainer, I returned to university studies to pursue my M.Ed. and become a teacher. I've included social justice, animal protection and environmental ethics lessons and activities in my classroom and beyond. As a teacher, my hope is that I have empowered my students to use their passion and skills to make the world a better place.
Outside of the classroom, I've had the privilege of working with animal rescues to host community-wide adoption events, rehome adoptable community cats, and bring humane education experiences to children in the United States as well as abroad in Costa Rica. I've also been honored to use my voice to speak at commissioner meetings in Florida counties as well as in front of the EPA in Washington, DC. It has been an honor to connect with fellow animal and environmental advocates at these engagements as well as at national events such as Taking Action for Animals. In my free time, I've created a podcast, written animal welfare and environmental petitions, led statewide environmental demonstrations with 10k participants, and created summer camps for kids. I also have experience organizing volunteers, working with the media, and creating marketing materials.
My priority is to use my passion, skills, and experience to help promote widespread systemic change. I would love to be part of a team that shares this same goal so we can pursue our dream of making the world a better place, together.

In my life, I've been privileged to have experienced cultures and places beyond my wildest dreams. I spent a summer in Arusha, Tanzania helping to build an AIDS orphanage and met the happiest people I've ever met in my life. I spent a weekend exploring multiple parks while there, and found myself in the middle of a herd of elephants, watching a baby elephant mimicking her mom's behavior. I backpacked through Denali National Park in Alaska and on my first night out a momma grizzly walked by with her three yearlings in tow. As the dusk set in, I shared a special moment with a pair of juvenile caribou next to a creek as we took each other in. From Europe to Costa Rica to here in the United States, I've always sought out adventures and challenges and have been rewarded with a richness of life that I couldn't have gotten otherwise. All of these experiences have taught me so much about life; I'm grateful. My goal is to use this knowledge to continue to become a better person.
